  1. Register at digitalocean.com and log in to the account.

  2. Next, to verify, you are asked to link your bank card.

  3. After creating our server for this go to

  4. Select the operating system for your server (Debian 12 is optimal)

  5. Select the server size: - If you are renting the BoxExchanger software, 2 CPU / 2 GB memory will be sufficient for you. (At any time, you can easily upgrade the server on DigitalOcean.) - If you have purchased the BoxExchanger software, you will need slightly more resources. We recommend at least 4 CPU / 4 GB memory (this server on DigitalOcean starts at $50 per month. If this amount is too high for you, you can start with a server that has 2 CPU / 4 GB memory)."

  6. The Add block storage block can be skipped

  7. Server location selection is up to you. (We recommend choosing a server that is closest to your working location. For example, for Europe and the CIS, we recommend selecting a server in .)

  8. Leave the unit as it is.

  9. Create an SSH password for the server. Please note that the password must be at least 8 characters long and contain uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

  10. Leave the 'Additional Services' (Select additional options) section as is.

  11. At the final configuration stage, select the quantity as 1 and specify the server name. You can only use Latin letters and a hyphen; other special characters are not allowed, and the name cannot contain spaces. Choose a name that is easy for you to recognize what server it is. For example, you can use the project name.

  12. Everything is ready, click the 'Create Droplet' button and wait for the server installation to complete. After the installation, you will receive the IP address of your server in your project, which is needed for further setup."

If your exchange office is installed by BoxExchanger specialists, you need to provide SSH accesses (password from step #9 and IP from step #12) to the technician personally or to admin@boxexchanger.net.
